So I’ve been trying to keep up here-my apologies! My 8 week old wants 100% attention all the time. But I told him he has to share my time (heheh) .
That being said I’d love to share some thoughts I have about Game of Throne and branding and pens. I just purchased some calligraphy pens which I’m somewhat trilled about. I only wish they had a longer edge for that REAL, MEDIEVAL look. I do own an metal calligraphy pen set but it’s 10 years old and from college.
I think practicing first with these will be good for the trees. (Meaning I’ll save paper this way.)
Medieval and calligraphy go hand in hand, since it was used a ton in those days. And Medieval means #GOT! I’m a huge fan Game of Thrones (#GOT) and as a graphic/web designer I couldn’t help but notice ::SPOILER ALERT:: Ramsay’s /Bolton branding/logo/sigil. Given that he is an certified a$$, his house branding is on point– from the letter seal, banners and shields, to the top of Winterfell’s building in the intro.
I gotta say this house has better branding than what I see today lol! Well…for a few reasons: 1: It’s iconic and doesn’t need words. Meaning it can be recognized by all cultures. (AKA Nike) 2. It’s bold and has feeling.
With these two elements any company or small business wins! This is all for now folks. Until next time — when I discuss children’s book and illustrations feature Berenstain Bears!
